Frac Sand Transload Terminal - International
Completion: October 2014
Project Description:
This state of the art facility boasts significant storage capacity with (6) 2,000 metric ton silos, handling multiple grades of industrial or frac sand, with a conveying rate of 500 metric tons per hour, to support the Alberta oil services demand. The entire system is operated by an integrated PLC based controls system which manages live inventories, truck and rail unloading, and legal-for-trade truck fill. The truck filling equipment incorporates dustless loadout controls to ensure air quality is maintained.
The controls system is unique in that it allows all site control from a single computer terminal. The operator can monitor the status and control screens for each truck loading bay, silo fill operations, and live inventories. Video monitoring was also installed to assist the operator in overseeing operations and and positioning of the truck loading equipment, which include a dustless loading spout and multi path positioner.
